1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Gently website, browser extension, accounts, subscriptions, or related services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Gently.
2. Who operates Gently
Gently Apps is operated by Stéphane Bolduc and based in Québec, Canada. References to ‘Gently,’ ‘we,’ ‘us,’ or ‘our’ mean Gently Apps.
3. Description of the service
Gently is an AI writing assistant designed to help users improve text they are actively writing, including grammar, clarity, tone, and translation. Features may change, improve, be limited, or be discontinued over time.
4. Eligibility and user responsibility
You are responsible for how you use Gently and for reviewing all generated output before sending, publishing, relying on, or sharing it. AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your situation.
5. Accounts, plans, and payments
Gently may offer free plans, paid plans, and trial periods. Features, usage limits, billing cycles, and pricing may change over time. If you purchase a paid plan, payment processing may be handled by third-party providers. Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, fees are non-refundable.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Gently for spam, scams, harassment, deception, unlawful activity, infringement of rights, security abuse, attempts to reverse engineer the service, or any activity that could harm Gently, its users, or third parties.
7. Intellectual property
The Gently service, website, branding, design, software, and related content are owned by Gently Apps or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property to you.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to Gently at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for the service or other users, failed to pay applicable fees, or used the service in an abusive, fraudulent, or unlawful way.
9. Disclaimers
Gently is provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gently Apps and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of Gently.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Québec, Canada, unless another law is required by your local consumer protections. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the service will be subject to the applicable courts of Québec, Canada, unless otherwise required by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may post the updated version on this page and update the ‘Last updated’ date. Your continued use of Gently after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
