Common Gently problems and quick fixes

Refresh the page, click into a standard text box, and confirm the extension is enabled. If the button appears on one site but not another, the issue may be page-specific or the field may not be supported in the same way.

Try a shorter piece of text, reload the page, and retry. If it keeps failing, check your connection and tell support which tone you selected, what site you were on, and whether an error message appeared.

Refresh the page first. Then test the same action on another site. Some pages handle text areas differently, especially if they use custom editors. A screenshot helps us identify layout bugs much faster.

Give it a moment and try again, then confirm you are using the correct account or subscription email. If the problem stays, email support with the email tied to your plan and a screenshot of what you are seeing.

Make sure both browsers are updated and that the extension is installed and enabled in the one that is failing. Browser-specific issues are usually easier to isolate when you tell us the exact browser and version.

Some websites use unusual editors, embedded frames, or heavily customized text fields. Tell us the exact page and what happened. If possible, include whether Gently failed completely or only part of the interface behaved oddly.

Close and reopen the tab, refresh the page, and make sure Gently is enabled. If needed, open your browser’s extensions page and use the reload or disable/enable option for Gently. If that still does not solve it, remove and reinstall the extension as a last step.
